FloWater expects to increase refill station placements in schools thanks to new CARES Act money

Hydration expert FloWater said it is accelerating the nationwide rollout of its touchless, self-sanitizing refill stations to replace old water fountains in schools.

FloWater is preparing to increase its installation rate on the heels of an additional $170 billion in CARES Act funding that is earmarked for K-12 schools and higher education in the new $1.9 trillion stimulus package proposed by President Biden.

The Centers of Disease Control’s guidelines for reducing the spread of Covid-19 call for the replacement of high-touch, communal fixtures like water fountains. As a result, FloWater said a number of schools have used CARES Act funds to replace their traditional water fountains with its touchless stations.

So far, more than 750 FloWater refill stations have been installed in schools, including 400 with touchless technology.

The stations are freestanding and need to connect to a potable water line within 100 feet.

FloWater stations also feature advanced osmosis purification technology that supposedly removes up to 99.99 % of contaminants in water, including viruses, bacteria, heavy metals like lead and arsenic, chemicals and microplastics. A carbon coconut filter finishes the chilled water for a great taste.

White Glove Placement isn’t on this order, so arranging that is up to you.

It’s real plumbing work; your Refill Station ties into a water line and a drain line, and needs a three-prong outlet nearby. We’re all for a good DIY project. This isn’t one of them. A licensed plumber is the right call, and a placement guide ships with your Refill Station for them to work from.
